What is a Promising Practice?

A promising practice is a program, intervention, or policy that has had successful results. Healthy Communities Institute, a Conduent Corporation, provides a national database of more than 2,200 promising practices designed to inform health professionals and community members about documented approaches to improving community health and quality of life.

The goal of this resource is to support the systematic adoption, implementation, and evaluation of successful programs, practices, and policy changes around the country and to share these ideas with one another. These practices are focused on community health, and are ranked as Good Ideas, Effective Practices, or Evidence-Based Practices depending on the data and results.
